threeplanesc​ollective is a group of three freelance dancers who collaborate with choreographers in the construction of genuine and articulate contemporary dance. We work with choreographers whose artistic voices we consider thoughtful, well-crafted, and lithely powerful. In all our projects, we encourage dialogues that explore novel ways for choreographers and dancers to relate to each other in mutually beneficial artistic exchanges. In our collective model, we serve as the artistic directors, the performers, and the administration; we select the choreographers, perform in the work, and facilitate the management, production, and touring of the collective. Our creative contribution to these projects is strengthened by the research and exploration we engage in amongst ourselves and as independent choreographers.

 

Our mutual interests in dance started during our undergraduate studies at Bennington College, where we danced in each other’s works and performed together for other choreographers. This common history provides us with a solid foundation from which to launch this project.
